I am looking for any information on 3 black families who lived in Clark County, MO between 1850 (slaves and beyond slavery).
One woman was named Julia WOODS, married to Andres or Andrew WOODS. Her neice who lived with her was named Lennie CRAWFORD, born around 1882. Lennie's sister was Martha SCOTT, a servant for the Lutie LAHEW family, born around 1850. I'd like to know who Lennie Crawford's parents were, where Martha SCOTT is buried, and if Julia WOODS still has any living relatives in the area. Lennie CRAWFORD was my grandmother, but I have very little information on her or anyone else in her family. Thanks.

I am trying to find out info on a Caroline STEWART, full name Mary Caroline STEWART who married Charles KECK in 1874 in Kahoka. She died in childbirth somewhere between the years of 1877-1880 probably living in Sweet Home twsp. They had a son Charles KECK (my grandfather in July of 1876), then later she died in child birth sometime before 1880 census.
Not sure but think her Dad's name was J D STEWART. Don't know what the J D stood for. The older Charles KECK then left my grandfather Charles to be raised by a minister in Croton, IA and never returned. Have tryed to find out where Mary Caroline Stewart Keck is buried. I am sure it is Clark Co but probably no stone. Thanks Carolyn

I need information on the birth and death of Samuel CHAPMAN born Apr. 30, 1869 died Oct. 12 1871, Lewetta and Emely (unknow birth or death.) these names are all listed on one headstone in the New Woodville Cemetary near Wyaconda, Clark County.
I have been there 2 times and cannot get all the information from the headstone. These are children of James and Sarah CHAPMAN also buried there. I have written to the caretaker, and did not receive any information. I assume that they all died approx. the same time. Thank you for any information. Ruth Easton
