Hi,
I need some help finding additional info on the SHERRICKs who settled in Clark and adjoining counties in the 1820's to 1840's. There are a few different Henrys and I think one of them may be the one I'm looking for. Henry b. 1805 owned a farm about a mile from Prarie Church Cemetery. He is buried in the cemetery with his wife Anna, some of his children, and a grandchild Bede Roy. On the 1850 Census a Henry shows up as a cooper b. 1823-24. He was living by John SHERRICK b. 1811 who was a miller. I think this is the Henry I may be looking for. Is there anything in the local history about these SHERRICK? I need to know about a child born to this Henry in 1850-51 named Franklin John or Francis John and any further info on him while he was still in MO. Also, according to some info on Prarie Church Cemetery, Henry (b> 1805) and his wife Anna died suddenly in 1875 after returning from the STRICKLER farm by Medill. STRICKLER was the husband of their only surviving child Catherine. What happened to William STRICKLER and Catherine after 1875? There is no record. Is there any county lore about them and the sudden mysterious death of Catherine's parents? Any help you can give me from the Clark Co history would be greatly appreciated. Lucy Sherrick (Hull)

I am still looking for this elusive lady. From the Dunkirk,NY Evening Observer, the following information. "Adell JOHNSON has received a telegram stating her Aunt, Mrs Maich THOMPSON of Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday December 4, 1929. Mrs. Thompson was the widow of a former governor of Missouri and will be remenbered by the older residents of Brocton." I can find no ex governor of MO named Thompson so this creates as many questions as it answers. Perhaps someone with access to obits from around this date could help me out.
