This listing of Cooper County marriages is taken from a wide variety of sources. Not all sources agree as to the spelling or date of the marriage. Additionally, the marriage records were returned to both the county clerk and the sheriff's office. Not all of the returns that were submitted to the sheriff's office have been recorded in the clerk's books. Even in this listing there are gaps were not all the years have been fully recorded. The years 1819 to 1867 are the most complete with only three or four years of gaps. We will attempt to fill the gaps, and the records from the sheriff's office, and verify accurateness as time permits. In the meantime, use this only for a guide and always consult the original records.
