Official Land Patents Record Site You will love this site, trust me. The Official Land Patents Record Site is managed by the Bureau of Land Managment site. At this site you can get an official copy of your ancestor's land patent. This is free, but if you want a photocopy you will have to pay for it. There is some limited genealogical information associated with the land claims. You will need to know the Congressional Township of your ancestor's land for best results. That is the Range (e.g. R-15-W), Township (e.g. T-46-N) and hopefully Section number of the land. The 1877 sectional map located on this site can be of immense benefit to you. However, you may be able to make a connection without the congressional township information. This site was located by Ricki Wilkins. | |
