NAPTON, Clyde E. 1923-2008 Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Cass Co, MO Mullinax Funeral Home Clyde E. Napton, March 15, 1923 - August 17, 2008 - Clyde E. Napton passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008, at the Adrian Manor in Adrian, Mo., at the age of 85 after spending his entire life farming. Clyde was born March 15, 1923 at the Napton Farm near Drexel to Frank and Lizzie Ethel (Williams) Napton. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 15. He attended the Calvert School. Fifty-nine years ago, on December 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Eunice Ketner; she survives. He is also survived by their three children: Darrell and wife Luanne of Brookings, South Dakota; Philip and wife Toreca of Drexel, Mo., and Janice Blair and husband Kevin of Olathe, Kan. Clyde is also survived by his sister, Letha Schultz of Lee's Summit, Mo., and three grandchildren: Clint Napton and wife Cathy of Soda Springs, Idaho.; Brett Napton and wife Jessica of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and Kyle Blair of Olathe, Kan.; as well as one great-grandchild, Shane Napton of Soda Springs, Idaho. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a faithful member of the South Fork Baptist Church near Drexel, serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and other duties. He was always willing to help any neighbors, and he loved children. A funeral service will be Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the South Fork Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Sharon Cemetery near Drexel. (Mullinax Funeral Home)
NEELY, Lloyd L. 1937-2008 Hackleman Cemetery, Cedar Co, MO El Dorado Sun, El Dorado Springs, MO, Thursday Apr 10 2008 Lloyd L. Neely, 70, Butler, was born on Nov. 11, 1937, in Clay County, to Evan K. and Clarissa Neely. He passed away April 3, 2008. Lloyd married Donna Christine Coale on June 1, 1957, in El Dorado Springs. To this union, three children were born two daughters: Renee Paarmann, Nevada, and Teresa Neely, Kansas City, and one son, Jason Neely, Kansas City. Lloyd enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing and restoring classic Ford trucks. His passion and will to live was an inspiration to all that knew him. He will be greatly missed. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Donna; brother, Floyd K. Neely; two daughters, Renee Paarmann and husband, Jim, and Teressa Neely; one son, Jason Neely; three grandchildren: Aaron Cline, Tara Paarmann and Keagan Paarmann; several nieces and nephews and wonderful family and friends. Services were held on Sunday, April 6, at Bland-Hackleman Chapel. Burial was in the Hackleman Cemetery.

He was born May 25, 1940 to Thomas Edwin and Ellen Belle Crawford Nelson in Jefferson, Iowa. Elvis is survived by his wife, Nora Ann Nelson of Amsterdam, Missouri; four sons, Jeffrey E. Nelson and wife Stephanie of Butler, Missouri, Mark E. Nelson and wife Tracy of Amoret, Missouri, John W. Nelson and wife Julie of Nevada, Missouri and Daniel M. Nelson and wife Vanessa of LaCygne, Kansas; a stepson, Robert F. Wensch and wife Monique of Lehigh Acres, Florida; two sisters, Eleanor Karns and husband Ray of Fairbanks, Alaska and Elaine Zellmer and husband David of Amsterdam, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Gregory Alan Nelson who died in 1964.

Sad indeed was that home when parents and friends saw they must give little Evelyn up, everything was done to keep her here, but God knows best. Funeral services at the Burdett church. Interment Burdette cemetery.

Nelson, died at his home near Lee's Summit, Mo., Sunday, December 8th, 1918; aged 81 years, 2 months and 3 days. Mr. Nelson was born at Burdett October 5th, 1887, and grew to manhood there. He left here several years ago. He was married and is survived by a wife and four children; besides these his mother, four brothers and one sister survive. The body of Mr. Nelson was brought to Adrian Tuesday and buried in the Burdett cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of friends in this bereavement.

Mrs. Nestlerode was a native of Cook county, Illinois. She had been a resident of Bates county for many years. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Virginia Methodist church and burial made in the Adam Howe cemetery.

Church for Cyrus Nestlerode, 72 years old, who passed away at a hospital in Russelville, Ark., April 18. His home was at Dover, Ark. Mr. Nestlerode was a former resident of Charlotte township and a brother of Mrs. Grant Oldham who lives near Amoret. Interment was in a cemetery near Jingo, Kas.

Main, Butler, was found dead at his home Monday March 3. He was a lifelong resident of Bates county. He was born at Virginia, Mo., the son of Catherine Estella Hussey and Nelson M. Nestlerode. Mr. Nestlerode was a veteran of World War I. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Grant Oldham, Route 3, Butler; niece and nephews Harry Nestlerode, Eugene Nestlerode, Ellis Nestlerode, Elvia Shazer, Nadine Kershner and Helen White. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Underwood-Steinbeck chapel. Burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

NICHOLS, Bertha Ann 1910-2001 Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Deer Creek Twp, Bates Co, MO Bertha Ann Nichols, 90, Parsons, Kan., formerly of Archie, died Saturday, Feb. 17, in Parsons. She was born July 8, 1910, in Stanley County, Aberdeen, N.C., the daughter of Debbie Lee and Flora Ann (Austin) Moss. She worked in the cotton fields as a young person. In 1927, she married Samuel Robert Nicoll. Mrs. Nichols moved to Kansas City in 1935 to live with Samuel's family. She was employed at the Nelly Don Garment Factory in Kansas City. Later, she moved to a farm west of Archie. In 1948, she married Clarence P. Nichols. They worked the family farm south of Archie until they retired and moved to Archie in 1970. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the First Christian Church in Adrian and the Optimist Club in Archie. She moved to Parsons in 1995. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence P. Nichols in 1979. Surviving are five sons, Robert Samuel Nicoll, Oak Grove, Richard Austin Nicoll, Independence, David Lee Nicoll, Parsons, Clarence Daniel "Danny" Nichols, St. Joseph, and James Winfred Nichols, Harrisonville; eight brothers and sisters in North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Casketbearers were Scott Nicoll, Steve Nicoll, Terry Nicoll, John Nicoll, Chris Nichols and David Doren. Services were Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Atkinson Chapel, Archie. Burial was in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.
NICHOLS, Dale Henry 1933-2008 El Dorado Sun, El Dorado Springs, MO, Aug 7 2008 Dale Henry Nichols, Willcox, AZ, was born to Minister George and Suzanna Smith Nichols on Feb. 4, 1933, in Isabella, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2008, reaching the age of 75 years. Dale grew up in the Fairview, OK, area and received his education there. At the age of 13 he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite by his Father. At the age of 19 he went to Mexico to teach school. There he met Marlene Toews and they were united in marriage on June 7, 1953. They shared 55 beautiful years together. To this union were born 10 children. Their mission years in Mexico were a highlight in his life. In 1965 they moved to Inman, KS. In 1968 the Lord opened the door for them to move to Schell City, where they lived 28 years. After selling their farm in 1995, they moved to Willcox, AZ, where Dale resided until his death. Left behind to cherish his memory are, his loving wife, Marlene, their children, Richard and Betty, Faunsdale, AL, Carol and Don Dirks, Walker, George and Marcia, Farwell, TX, Clyde and Marilyn, Hiawatha, KS, Margaret and Ward Unruh, Garden View, KS, Dalen and Sheri, Willcox, AZ, Annette and Bryson Holdeman, Victoria, TX, Danny and Alicia, Garden View, KS, and Carlos and Lynette, DeRidder, LA; 32 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and long time family friend Anthony Fagan, and a host of relatives and friends. Services in Wilcox, AZ, were held at the Mountain Valley Mennonite Church on Aug. 5. Local services will be held at Friday, Aug. 8, in the Mennonite Church, Walker. Interment will be in the Living Faith Cemetery, Walker, under the direction of Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City.

NUNN, Carl Lee 1948-2008 Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Deer Creek Twp, Bates Co, MO Cass County Democrat-Missourian, Harrisonville, MO Carl Lee Nunn, 59, Harrisonville, died Jan. 22, 2008, at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Anadarko, Okla., the son of Cleatus Loyd and Launa (Golden) Nunn. Mr. Nunn had lived in Harrisonville and the Cass County area since 1967. Oct. 3, 1967, he married Kathleen Ann Woodard in Harrisonville. They were married for 31 years. They remarried on Oct. 8, 2006, in Belton. Mr. Nunn was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Praxair for 27 years before retiring in 2004. He was a member of Teamsters Union, Local 541 and was a union steward. Mr. Nunn was a member of the Rock Brook Church in Belton and the Galiceno Horse Breeders Association. Preceding him in death were his parents. Surviving are his wife, Kathy, of the home; a son, Jesse Nunn, Lee's Summit; two daughters, Anita Kepner, Harrisonville, and Rita Carter, Ft. Lewis, Wash.; a brother, Ranney Nunn, Montgomery, Ala.; two sisters, LaDonna Stewart, Montgomery, and Joyce Nunn, Lawton, Okla., and three grandchildren, Tearstin Ogle, Carl John Carter and Jacob Kepner.
