Research Note: Anna was the wife of Joseph B. Barchak. Her birth parents are unknown. She was sent out from New York City on one of the Orphan Trains. She was adopted by the Bartkoski family. - Adopted daughter of John Bartkoski and Anna Sinkoska. - Mrs. Anna Barchak, 79, Wentworth resident, died in McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage, where she had been a patient four days. She was born June 15, 1891 in New York City and came to Wentworth in 1921. Her husband, Joseph Barchak, died in 1932. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Research Note: John died at the home of his son Stanley L. Bartkoski from a self inflicted gun shot wound. His wife was Anna Sinkoswka. He was a son of Michael Bartkoski born 1823 Poland. - Cassville Democrat - John Bartkoski Commits Suicide - John Bartkoski, an 80 year old farmer, committed suicide at the home of his son, Staney Bartkoski, a prominent farmer residing near Bricefield, last Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock. His son, Staney, who was in Cassville this week, said he heard a noise in an upstairs room at his home and upon investigation, found his father lying on the floor dead, with his clothing on fire, which had been set from the old musket which he used in ending his life. No cause is given for his actions. He had been in good health and spirits and had made no indication whatever that he intended taking such steps. The shot took effect in his stomach and ranged upwards toward his heart. The gun he used had not been fired in 15 years. Mr. Bartkoski was born in Poland and came to the county 45 years ago and settled on the farm where he died, and had lived there continuously since coming to this country. He leaves a wife and one son. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Bricefield, conducted by Father Julian, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. Mr. Bartkoski was born July 7, 1922, in Barry County, the son of Joe and Rose (Witt) Bartkoski. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired heavy equipment operator, and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. He married Nancy Jane Wood on April 18, 1975, and she survives. Additional survivors include one stepson, John Wood of Newport News, Virginia; two step-daughters, Lee Moore and Mary Patterson, both of Tempe, Arizona; two sisters, Rose Flehmer of Pierce City and Berneice Morris of Monett; and four grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Burial with military rites will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield under the direction of Wessell Funeral Home of Pierce City. She married Tony Bartkoski in 1926, and he preceded her in death in 1969. Survivors include one son, Alfred Bartkoski of Sterling, Virginia; one brother, Eddy Renkoski of Kansas City; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, three sisters, and five brothers. The cause of death was auto accident. - Cassville Democrat, Dec. 20, 1934 - Frank Bobski, 62 years old died Thursday morning from injuries received Wednesday afternoon when stuck by a car in front of his home five miles west of Purdy on the farm-to market road, near the Shoal Creek bridge, above Pioneer. Mrs. Bobski was driving some stock along the road when stuck by the car. The driver was held blameless in the accident. Mr. Bobski's skull was fractured and he suffered other injuries. Funeral services were held at the Pulaskifield church. Saturday morning. Burial in the church cemetery there under the direction of Blankenship's of Purdy. Mr. Bobski was born in Germany November 24, 1872. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Edward Bobski of Monett, Mrs. Tom Warczroski, Mrs. Adam Abromovitz and Mrs. Stanley Bellas of Kansas City, Kan. and Leo and Steve Bobski at home. He leaves one brother, John Bobski, of Leavenworth, Kan. Lola Grace Burdolski, 78, of Edwardsville, KS, formerly of Fairview, MO, passed away Thursday, August 19th, at Golden Living Center - Parkway Nursing Home in Edwardsville, KS. Visitation with Wake Services to follow will be from 6 to 7:30 pm, Monday evening, August 23, 2010 at the Alden - Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, MO with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Golden Living Center Parkway Resident Trust Fund. Lola was born June 1, 1932 in Edwardsville, KS and was a longtime Kansas City, KS area resident and had lived in Fairview, MO since her retirement. She had previously worked for several area nursing homes as a C.M.A. and most recently worked for The Manor of KC for over 17 years retiring in 1993. She was a previous member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS and St Canera's Catholic Church in Neosho, MO and presently a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, MO. Lola was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lisa Burdolski in 2009, her parents and 6 siblings. And is survived by her husband of 55 years Edward B. Burdolski of the home. 7 Children Mike: and Debbie Burdolski of Cape Corral, FL; Robert and Diana Burdolski of Littleton, CO; Sharon and Jim Easterday of Kansas City, KS; Linda Murphy of Portis, KS; Tom and Glenda Burdolski of Edwardsville, KS; Dennis and Becky Burdolski of Bismark, ND; and Dan and Megan Burdolski of Kansas City, MO. 14 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. One sister Fran Lack of Harrisonville, MO as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. |
