He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired heavy equipment operator, and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. v He married Nancy Jane Wood on April 18, 1975, and she survives. Additional survivors include one step-son, John Wood of Newport News, Virginia; two step-daughters, Lee Moore and Mary Patterson, both of Tempe, Arizona; two sisters, Rose Flehmer of Pierce City and Berneice Morris of Monett; and four grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Burial with military rites will be in Sts.
