She attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and taught 10 years at a business college in Kansas City. She worked for the Missouri Division of Employment Security in Kansas City and Springfield until retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Woodlawn Heights Presbyterian Church in Springfield and the Order of the Eastern Star in Forsyth. She married Ralph W. Fogler on February 14, 1960, in Miami, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death April 4, 1964. She was preceded in death by one brother. No burial place given. - Lois M. Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Nuclear Task Force 4925 Test Group "Atomic" from 1951-1955. He was a mechanic on B50 aircraft flown by the testing unit, taking him to multiple test sites including Bikini Atoll and Marshall Islands to conduct nuclear testing. Following his military service, he worked in the printing industry setting up commercial printing presses all over the U.S., before purchasing a gun shop from George Gunter in 1973 and moving his family to Monett. Dave was married to Jane Horn on December 13, 1952, just celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary. He worked as a self-employed gunsmith for nearly 40 years. After several years as a devoted stay-at-home-mother, she resumed her education and graduated from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa with her Bachelor's Degree in education. She then received her Master's Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Judy and Max lived in Bettendorf, Iowa, where she volunteered for the Quad City Symphony and for the Symphony Garden Club. She was a Docent for the Figge Art Museum in Davenport. She was a member of the PEO Chapter L.H. in Davenport, and later in the PEO Chapter A in Holiday Island, Arkansas. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Thomas in infancy; one brother, Ed Schmitt and one sister, Sally Wagner. Martin received his education in Iowa, graduating from Dubuque Senior High School. During the Korean War he served in the United States Navy. He was regional sales manager for International Harvester in Oelwein, Iowa for forty-two years. Twenty-nine years ago he moved from Iowa to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a member of Eagles Lodge in Shell Knob, where he did volunteer work and was secretary for nine years. No services are scheduled at this time. Research Note: Cassville, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of the late Hollis and May Schmohe. His wife was Brenda. Rodne was preceded in death by his parents. Following graduation from Fulton High School at Fulton, Missouri in May 1973, he joined the United States Navy, becoming an Aviation Machinist's Mate. He was a plankholder as a member of the crew of the United States Navy Aircraft Carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower when the ship was commission. He later became a Plane Captain for Grumman's C-1 Trader and C-2 greyhound aircraft. His duty stations were Naval Air Station (NAS) Memphis, Tennessee, NAS Pensacola, Florida, Norfolk Naval Station, Virginia, NAS Jacksonville, Florida, and NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. He served at sea in the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Mediterranean regions aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and USS John F. Kennedy. HE retired from the US Navy as a Petty Officer First Class after 20 years of service. He was awarded the following: Naval Aircrew Wings, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Badge, Navy Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle "E" Award with 5 devices, National Defense Service Medal with 1 device, Good Conduct Medal with 4 devices, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and Sea Service Ribbon. Following retirement from the US Navy he relocated to Cassville, Missouri, where he was a truck driver and then later worked for Wal-mart. He spent his final years rebuilding trucks and automobiles to enter in many car shows throughout the region. Preceding him in death were his parents, eight brothers and six sisters. Jerry grew up and received his education in Wisconsin and graduated from Colby High School. Dec. 24, 2022 | Research Note: He was the son of Lauretta (Gartung) and Lee O. Sharp. Robert Sharp was the oldest of three sons raised in rural southwest Kansas during the Dust Bowl era. Bob (as he was called) was nearly always taller than every classmate, and at fourteen, he was the starting center in the first organized varsity basketball game he ever saw. Bob Sharp and Elva June Estes met in Dodge City, Kansas in 1952, and they were married there on April 11, 1954. Sweethearts every day of their lives, they celebrated 68 years of marriage just last spring. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956 and was stationed in Germany, the furthest he ever got from home. Bob and Elva June moved to a farm east of Monett with their two children in 1965 and have called the area home ever since. Elva June passed away in October, and Bob found it nearly intolerable to be apart from her. Bob Sharp was a building contractor in southwest Missouri, mostly in and around Aurora, and thousands of people owe the roofs over their heads to his consummate abilities. She loved working in her flowers to make the world a beautiful place. She loved to confuse her family saying chicken fried chicken with chicken fried steak. She had a blunt personality and was very honest, but she had a heart of gold and shared that with everyone she met. Rose enjoyed going to the casino, but she never had the chance to win her millions. Rose is survived by one son; three daughters; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; beloved mother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of extended family and friends. Research Note: Shell Knob, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of Marion and Ada Shore. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1957 and attended Kansas State University where he received a business degree with a major in accounting. Don moved to Denver, Colorado in the spring of 1961 where he started his first job out of college with Touche Ross, one of the original "Big 8" accounting firms. From there he moved to Grand Junction, Colorado where he served as the Business Manager for Mesa College and later was a partner in the public accounting firm of Coe, Shore, and Lymon in the late1960's and early 1970's. Don, his wife Judy and their six children moved from Grand Junction to Naturita, Colorado where he was the chief accounting officer for Williams, Inc. When the local economy in western Colorado took a downward turn in the late 1970's, Don and his family went on vacation to Table Rock Lake in southwestern Missouri with his siblings and their families. He fell in love with the lake and the Ozark Mountains. Don and Judy and their family moved to Shell Knob, Missouri in the fall of 1979 where they have lived for the past 41 years. Don opened his local CPA office in Shell Knob where he lived and served the local community, later selling his practice to BRS CPAs where he continued working with clients through this year. Don was involved in several civic and charitable organizations in his lifetime and he loved working with people. He also served on the Governmental Accounting Committee for the state of Colorado where he helped develop the accounting guidelines for Junior Colleges statewide. For many years he was a member of Lions Club, Bridge House, Elks Club, and he was instrumental in setting up Lions Club in both Naturita and Shell Knob. He also introduced the Lions Club Youth Exchange program in Naturita, CO and again in Shell Knob, Mo. where they then hosted students from Japan, Finland, Italy, Germany, Venezuela and Brazil with many other families. The Shore family was also known for welcoming people into their home over the years who were facing hardship and they helped them turn their lives around. Research Note: Daughter of Ansel and Lota (Herd) Gibbs. She was raised in the Delta, CO area through high school. After graduating high school, she attended Blair Business College in Colorado Springs. Her life then led her to Ralls, Texas, where she attended Texas Tech and began raising two daughters. She returned to Delta for a short time, then moved to Grand Junction, CO, where she met the love of her life. They were united in marriage on May 19, 1967, blending their two young families. They then added 2 more children to expand the family to 8. In 1974, they moved to Naturita, CO where they lived on a small family farm growing food and raising livestock. Giving back to the community, specifically starting the Lioness Club, led to the beginning of multiple years of exchange students in their home, as well as providing the opportunity for youth in the community to travel abroad, including their own children. She also led fundraising to develop the local town park. The pull of the lake and Missouri resulted in the move to Shell Knob, MO in 1979 where she spent the remaining years of her life. Her passion for community led to her founding and leading the Lioness Club in Shell Knob. After starting the exchange student program, it expanded to co-chairing the Southwest Missouri program, bringing 50-60 teens from foreign countries into the area. During tax season she worked in Don's accounting office, taking on the needed administrative duties. They converted part of their home and opened it to others via a bed and breakfast, where they met lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Donald Shore, and her parents Ansel and Lota Gibbs. Sgt Shultz was a twenty year veteran of the USAF and a veteran of The Vietnam War. He was awarded the following awards: Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal with two Bronze loops, USAF Good Conduct Medal with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, United States Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He served via permanent change of station and temporary duties in France, England, Germany, Guam, Greece, Turkey and India but visited many more nations, retiring from the Air Force in 1976. Following his time in the Air Force Sgt Shultz was employed by the FMC Machinery Corporation in San Jose, California for four years, the Pettebone Corporation in Irving, Texas for a year and then the Lockheed Martin Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas for eighteen years, retiring in 2002. On December 12, 1988 in Fort Worth, Texas he was united in marriage to Mary Louise (Curbo, Edmondson, Bucannan) who preceded him in death on April 20,2017. Research Note: Daughter of Ted and Lela (Rose) Floyd. On Dec. 15, 1995 Sue married Rockford "Rock" Sims, the love of her life in Miami, Oklahoma. Sue and Rock made their forever home on their little "farm" in Exeter Missouri. They spent many happy days together until Rock's passing on Aug. 16, 2017. Sue was one of seven children. Proceeding her in death are her parents, brothers; Tommy Clarence "Bob" Floyd, Fred Floyd, and sister Lou Troutman. She is survived by three sisters and a very special sister-in-law. Sue is also survived by her children; her grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren. Sue loved watching the deer in her field and the flowers bloom. She was always excited to see the progress and rebuilding Jeff & Christy made around the farm and although it was only for a few short months, she loved her new house and having Jeff and Christy as her neighbors. Sue also enjoyed Sunday suppers with Jeff, Christy and Ben and she liked crocheting, emailing her sisters and playing Yahtzee, Dominoes and Phase 10 with Eryn. Sue often spoke of keeping Lindsey for a week at a time when she was little and telling stories of when she and Rock were married. Rick enjoyed riding his Harley, driving his sports cars, going mudding in his Jeep, piddling and working in his garage and yardwork, he referred to his yard as Papa's Park. He always wanted to accomplish something every day. Rick and Shirley loved to travel throughout the states in their camper but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Music was a large part of his life becoming a spectacular guitar player and developing The Cross Band which performed in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas playing Christian music. He developed lifetime friendships with several country western stars including Merle Haggard. In later life, he was instrumental in many housing projects including The Waterfront on Table Rock Lake and several other developments in Shell Knob. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam from August 1, 1966 until August 30, 1968. He then went to work at One Hour Dry Cleaners in Joplin working there for one year. From 1969 until 1975 he was employed by American Fixtures. In September of 1975 he began working at FASCO Industries in Cassville as General Foreman, and after 37 years, he retired in 2012 as IT Director over five American plants and one Canadian division. For the last four years he helped serve veterans breakfasts and worked bingo at the Shell Knob VFW. As per his request, no services or memorials are scheduled. With the exception of one brief interval during WW II when they worked together in an ammunition plant in Oklahoma, Frank and Frances Snyder lived most of their married life in Monett. In 1997, after both experienced health problems, they moved to St. Louis, to live with their daughter and son-in-law. During their 57 year residency in Monett, Frank and Frances delivered The Monett Times and Springfield News Leader for many years in Monett and surrounding area. Frank also served as a Monett police officer for many years and was employed by Rocketdyne in Neosho prior to working for the city. Frances was employed as a cashier at the old Moss Market and later completed 25 years of employment for EFCO. In addition, Frances was an accomplished singer winning several awards during her high school years. She continued her singing as a member of many community choirs including First Presbyterian Church in Monett where she and Frank were members for more than 50 years. Frances was also active in many community organizations and especially enjoyed her involvement with the Daughters of the American Revolution. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, just 11 days prior to her passing, and one brother and sister-in-law: John Lee and Beverly Ann Stair, formerly of Florida. Jack had an extensive and distinguished career in shoe manufacturing spanning over 45 years in Illinois, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, Missouri, Dominican Republic and Mexico. In 1967 he joined Jumping-Jacks Shoe Corporation in Puerto Rico and Missouri in manufacturing and quality control. He was superintendent of the division's Marionville plant for many years. He completed his shoe career with management positions for Justin Boots in Cassville and Sarcoxie. He greeted many a friend and child with a warm smile at Wal-Mart until his retirement a few years ago. As a pancreatic cancer survivor, every day we had with Jack since 1978 has been a gift from God. They continued their military journey living in Germany, then several states from Massachusetts to sunny Florida, where they retired, until the hurricanes ran them back to the 100+ year old family homestead in Washburn, Missouri, where they both worked tirelessly to build their cozy log cabin. Pat's adventurous spirit led her to embrace her adoptive country by exploring it from coast to coast with Wes, on a motorcycle with a tent and sleeping bags strapped to the back. He joined Yellow Freight System in 1966 as chief accountant and worked his way up to president, resigning in 1987. Research Note: Son of Gerald "Jerry' William and Barbara Ann (Manning) Stewart. Steven moved to Hollister in Dec. 2021 after living in Reeds Spring, Missouri. He graduated from Reeds Spring High School and attended college at Missouri Southern College in Joplin, MO. After graduation he worked at Shepard of the Hills playing several characters. In 1988 Steven made his professional wrestling debut as "Steve Sawyer" in Kansas City, Missouri. He would later go by the ring name "Smart Bart Sawyer." He was best known for his time in Championship Wrestling USA and the United States Wrestling Association during the 1990's. Throughout his career Steve won several championships including the one he liked to talk about the most, the USWA World Tag Team Championship with Doug Masters and Flex Kavana, who would later in his career be known as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Steve suffered a stroke in 2004 that ended his career and forced him to retire. Steve's faith is what helped him make it through the days following his stroke and the many long years that would follow. Membership was held in the First Christian Church, Kimberling City, MO. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Gerald "Jerry" Stewart, a sister, Georgiana Gatten, and his stepfather, George Gatten. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother; two brothers; two uncles; and a host of other family members and friends. Research Note: Alan was the center of his mother's heart and her best friend. They were happiest when they were planning and doing projects together. No mother has ever had a more devoted or loving son. He was a fine man in every sense of the word. He leaves behind a blended family of mother and dad; three sisters; two brothers-in-law; two nieces; and two nephews. Alan was the quiet one in this often rowdy bunch but was always happy when the family was together, especially around the table. Alan never gained weight but that boy loved to eat! Alan is predeceased by his father, Bobby - sister, Karen - grandparents, Jo and Don Allen and his beloved dog, Sheba. Alan's love of Table Rock and Shell Knob goes back to his teenage years, camping and boating. He was a great skier, strong swimmer and loved being wet! He bought a weekend place and traveled here every two weeks for many years. He later bought a permanent home and settled into a neighborhood where he enjoyed extremely good friends that he cared for deeply. His family is so grateful for the help and support he received from friends, especially during the last few difficult years. Alan had a 30-year career with the American Red Cross and Regional Blood Center in Wichita, KS. He retired as Fleet Services Supervisor where he was responsible for over 75 vehicles of all types. He was formally recognized for his excellent work several times. He was a master mechanic, worked on cars, boats - anything with a motor. He was happiest in the garage; he loved to tinker! In 1981, he moved to Monett where he made his home. Rickey worked for over twenty-five years at EFCO and for over sixteen years at ASI in Monett. Rick enjoyed doing anything outdoors including camping, canoeing, hiking and took pride as a hobbyist in agriculture! On June 5, 1981, Rickey married Mona Marie Bryant in Aurora, MO. They were blessed with two children. She preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 2014. On July 9, 2022, Rickey married Tina Maria Medina. Over their last eight years of companionship, they have made many wonderful memories together. Research Note: Shell Knob, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of Patricia Patch. On February 14, 1985 in Applegate, Oregon he was united in marriage to Joycelene Osborne. Preceding him in death was his mother. Richard graduated from high school in Lodi, California and later attended Heald Institute of Technology in San Francisco receiving his BA in Horticulture. He was the executive chef of North Wester Restaurant in Gold Beach, Oregon. He was a data tech and wrote the first banking software, taught computer use to schools and instigated the school business relationships for students to get hands on experience before graduation. Richard and his wife had recently moved to Shell Knob from Klamath Falls, Oregon. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Research Note: Jenkins, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of Randle and Mary Ellen (Fare) Swofford. He met the love of his life and was united in marriage on October 5, 1984 to Wilma (Lee). Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Dale. Dennis grew up on the family farm, loved playing sports, excelling at basketball and baseball and received his early education at Jenkins School. He graduated from high school as an Aurora Houn Dawg. He then earned his bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in Columbia. MIZ! He was a proud brother of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity, where he made lifelong friendships and memories. All of his life was spent farming, raising cattle, hogs, and dairy cattle as well as crops. For over thirty years he was Road Commissioner for the Jenkins Special Road District. Dennis also served on the Cassville FSA Board. He was an avid golfer and a long-standing member of the Cassville Golf Club. Research Note: Golden, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of Percy William and Victoria Marie (Hanson) Sybert. On May 22, 1993, in Wichita, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Nancy K. Graham. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Jacobs. He grew up and received his education in Kansas City, Kansas and Independence, Missouri. He moved to Torrance, California, and started working with TWA and Western Airlines as a Customer Service Agent. Dick moved back to Kansas City, Kansas for a short time then on to Wichita, Kansas, where he continued to work as a Customer Service Agent for the airlines. In 1994, he took an early retirement from TWA and he and Nancy started traveling in their motor home to Texas for the winters. He was a mason and a member of the Elks Club in Mission, Texas and Holiday Island, Arkansas.
