After being honorably discharged, he worked in Tulsa where he met Linda Porter and her son, Greg. They married on February 17, 1978, John adopted Greg, and they moved to Puget Sound, Washington. Arlene was a longtime resident of Neosho, MO. and after obtaining her GED, she graduated from Crowder Community College in Neosho, Mo. in 1995 with an A.A. in Business Management. Arlene was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents, brother Samuel Rainwater, and her Stepdad, Glen Withnell, Sr. In accordance with final wishes of Arlene and her children, no funeral services will be held, but the family will plan a celebration of life at a later date to commemorate her life and share in the many fond memories that will be held dear to their hearts. Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Gil, Buddy, Harlan, Jackie and June. Billy grew up and received his education at Rolling Prairie, Indiana. He joined the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War and retired after twenty-three years of service. He was stationed at San Diego, California when he retired and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona to work in Forestry. Research Note: He was the son of Sven "Sam" and Peggy (Higgins) Rasmussen. Mr. Rasmussen received his education in Forks, Washington and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver and retired in 1989 from Sea-Land Trucking. In 2000 he moved to Cassville from Sterling, Alaska. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Forks, Alaska; the American Legion in Sterling, Alaska; AMVETS in Kenai, Alaska; and the Masonic Lodge in Anchorage, Alaska. Survivors include five sons, three daughters, 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, a special lady of 22 years, Alyna "Babe" Newton, and one brother, Richard Rasmussen. The family will gather Saturday, September 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Memories Grill in Cassville under the direction of White Funeral Home of Cassville. - He married Roberta L. For several years he worked in construction, putting up metal studs for Unistrut Western in Denver, Colorado. Around six years ago he and Elayne moved to Shell Knob to make their home. They were both looking forward to Wayne's 70th birthday and their 50th wedding anniversary. Wayne was also thrilled to be expecting a great grandchild in October. Roger worked at Alpha Cement Co. in Peru, Illinois before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1957. He was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay in Honolulu, Hawaii where he specialized in amphibious reconnaissance. After discharge from the Marine Corps, he married Joanne Gostomski on July 2, 1960 at St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle and they moved to Joliet, IL. Roger worked at Caterpillar for 32 years, retired in 1987 and moved to Table Rock Lake in Shell Knob, MO in 1992 where he fulfilled his retirement dream of living on a great bass-fishing lake. While stationed at Lackland Air Force Base he started his radio career and became program director of the base radio station. Following his military discharge, he began a full time radio career. Don worked at various places through the years including San Antonio, Texas, Kansas City, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Alpena, Michigan, where he became a familiar voice to so many lives. In 2004, Don was inducted into the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame. Don was very active in all charitable and community activities and spent over twenty-five years in scouting as a leader and commissioner, and was awarded the Silver Beaver. In 1960, he married Harriet Rosemary Riggs in Aurora; they retired to Shell Knob in 1995. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one son, Don Rhea; his daughter in-law, Betty Jo; and his granddaughter, Tonya. No services are scheduled at this time. Roy grew up on the farm alongside one brother and three sisters. He was active in high school sports, and after graduation, joined the National Guard. Roy married in 1948 and they had five children, the youngest passing away at birth. His interest in all things mechanical, steered Roy's occupational path to that of a heavy equipment operator, in which he worked internationally and domestically for years. Roy married Ruth, with daughter Lois, in August of 1961. An occupational accident in 1964 crushed his knee and after recovery he worked five years as a radio station DJ. During their time together Roy and Ruth first operated a beverage business, and then the B and R Garage Door business in Joplin. Ruth preceded him in death in 1999. He was active as a member and musician in the churches of his communities. He has long been a member of the Masons, Scottish Rites, Shriners, Oriental Band, and Elks. Roy served twice as Master in Joplin Lodge 335, and later in life joined the lodges in Cassville and Shell Knob. Roy shared his senior years in Cassville with Mary, where they served as the foundation of an extending family. Services will be held at a later date. Research Note: News Item: According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Dale Roller, 53, of Cassville, was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang westbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2017 Ford Explorer. Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen pronounced Roller dead at the scene at 5:55 p.m. He was transported to Fohn Funeral Home. Both individuals were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled. - He was the son of Dale and Betty (Owens) Roller, who preceded him in death. Research Note: He was the son of the late Fred James Rooney, Sr. and Eva Marie (Miller) Rooney. Harold served his country in the Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged February 5, 1946 in Ft. Brag, N.C. at the rank of Staff Sergeant. For many years, Harold was a School Teacher and Elementary Librarian for Monett. He had also operated his father's Texaco distribution service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monett, a member of the American Legion Post #91, a member of the Missouri State Teacher's Association as well as the Missouri Democratic Committee. On July 21, 1944 in Charlotte, N.C., Harold and Mary Alice Petteway were united in marriage. They were blessed with over 62 years together until her passing in 2007. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fred James Rooney, Jr. and Kenneth Earl Rooney.
