I am trying to locate the county where the communities of Grabeel and
Macomb were located about 1913-1923. My aunt said my grandpa met them
at the train in Mansfield with a wagon to take them to their home. She
cannot remember the county but one Bible says my Dad was a member of
Grabeel Baptist Church in Grabeel, Missouri. They lived in Grabeel
and Macomb. I am trying to locate the burial place and year of death
of my great-grandmother Eliza Speak Seale. The family name is SEALE.
Cale and Flora and children, Arch, Dale, Hack, and Ferne. I cannot
locate this on any map. E Mail or D. Guthrie, 131 South Seneca Road,

I have two HAMMOND s birth place unknown, family unknown. Don't even know
if they are related. If you have a Sherman Hammond m. 1893 to Mary Alice
Lowe or a Laura Hammond m. Dennis Lowe 1908 I would like to hear from you.
Dennis and Mary Alice were brother and sister and Sherman and Laura could
have been also. Laura and Dennis were married in Magoffin County, KY.

I am very excited about the start of research of my mothers side of the family. Her family the
FERGUSONS, WHITTEN'S and BAKER'S were pioneer familys in Ozark County. My G-G James A.
Baker I believe is the namesake of Bakersfield.
Any help in getting me going would be greatly appreciated to include my Cherokee roots that start in
Ozark County. Thanks, John Fuller.
My mothers maiden name is Johna Ferguson and my Grandfather was Alan Ferguson and my Great
Grandfather was John Whitten and Pleasant Miller "Bud" Ferguson. My grandfather at one time owned
the grist-mill, canning company, movie theatre in Bakersfield in addition to being a farmer, school
teacher, surveyer and land appraiser in the Bakersfield area. My Great Grandfather John Whitten was a
one-time storeowner, mule skinner, and Judge in Ozark County. So you see I have a lot of work to do
to write about all of these events.

Is anyone familiar with the family of Robert W. Davis who came from TN with his wife Sarah to
Ozark Co., MO through KY. They were in KY long enough for the birth of one child. I'm looking
for where Robert resided in TN, & KY. Looking for Robert's ancestors and his wife's maiden
name.
Thanks,

Very nice web site!! How much work you have done. I did not see a
connection, but I did see some interesting things. On the Hardin Co KY
connection to my family. Later there were contacts with Waters and
Robinsons, (Robertson and Worter alternate spelling maybe on the part of
the records office thought)
Catherine HORN is my grandparent she had brothers named William and
James. Due to the age difference may have even been her children.
Catherine was born abt 1825 and per census in TN but I found her in
Ripley Co MO. The two boys were living wiith her. she married Joseph
Water in January 1849. Did you every here of an Indian connection to
the Horns or Watera? I am looking for an Indian line in my family and
had figured that it was the Horn and Waters line. Probably Cherokee.
When they applied for their marriage license in 1849 they were ask if
they were of lawful age which most were. However this couple were asked
if they were lawful White people, which I have never seen on any other
marriage license in this area. This was the Doniphan Court House
Doniphan, MO. I do not know where Catherine or Joseph are buried but
probably in Ripley Co Mo or Randolph Co AR. There daughter died in 1936
and she is buried in Siloam Cemetery in Ar.
I think it is possible that Catherine Horn descended from some of the
Horns that came to MO??
