1850 Census According to the numbers taken from this database, there were a lot of Barry County settlers who came from Tennessee and Kentucky. 923 people were born in Tennessee, 209 born in Arkansas, 208 born in Kentucky, 167 born in North Carolina, 152 born in Virginia, 113 were born in Illinois, 94 were born in Indiana, 46 born in South Carolina, 67 born in Alabama, 27 born in Georgia, and 12 were born in Mississippi. 1,224 people living in Barry County were born in Missouri.
