JONES, Janell (RHINE) (WOODEN) | Mar. 29, 1939 | Aug. 14, 2024 Cox South, Monett, Lawrence Co., MO |
Research Note: Janell was many things including a widow, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. All of these things could be used to describe her to the general public, but if you asked her family, we would tell you she was a woman of God above all else, she was a leader, independent, stubborn, loving, comforting, a true fashion icon, the strongest woman we will ever know, and last but definitely not least, an outstanding cook. Janell was the glue to our family and we know that no one will ever be strong enough to fill her shoes, however we can only hope that others are able to see glimpses of her in us. Our flesh may remain selfish in wishing she was still here on earth with us until the end of time, but our hearts find peace in knowing that she is no longer in pain, dancing and singing on the streets of gold. Grief often comes in waves, with joyous memories scattered in between and we are so blessed to have enough of those sunshine-filled memories to last us until we are united with her again. Janell raised and mentored a family of strong women who don't back down, and men who are strong enough to lead and guide their family. While she rests high on that mountain, we will remain strong and pray we continue to make her proud. Janell was the woman that led us to God and reminded us that He was always the answer. We will never be able to repay her for all of the times that she talked to her Father for us, but we will spend a lifetime being grateful, and we will long for the day we can hear all of the things she said to Him, and thank her one more time. Janell is survived by two daughters, Donna Connolly and Levonda Pryor, a son, Don Wooden, a sister, GeorgeAnn Clevenger, a brother, LD Rhine, five grandchildren, Luke Pryor, Kalana Harger, Marika Hull, Dominique Peetz, Madeline Kolanjian, and ten great-grandchildren, Miranda, Ezabella, Shiloh, Olivia, Aria, RayLynn, Oaklee, Bentlee, Riley, and Zebedee. She was preceded in death by her parents Adam and Mary, husband of 47 years Don Wooden and later husband Claude Jones; brother Gene Rhine and son: Sidney Wooden. | Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home L.Pearce FindaGrave |

As Lola aged, her hair turned frosty white and she remained a very attractive woman. She did, however, became a bit eccentric as time passed... Lola Lane was often seen walking to town to pick up her mail, wearing a white cloth wrapped around her head. It was not a turban, (nor a bath towel), nor any fancy scarf or piece of fabric; It was just a cotton (or feed-sack) tea towel-looking cloth, somewhat 'laid around' the top of her head! This was her head-gear every day - day-after-day as she strolled up the street and back towards her homeplace. Lola Lane was a diligent working, kind and good woman.
