As Lola aged, her hair turned frosty white and she remained a very attractive woman. She did, however, became a bit eccentric as time passed... Lola Lane was often seen walking to town to pick up her mail, wearing a white cloth wrapped around her head. It was not a turban, (nor a bath towel), nor any fancy scarf or piece of fabric; It was just a cotton (or feed-sack) tea towel-looking cloth, somewhat 'laid around' the top of her head! This was her head-gear every day - day-after-day as she strolled up the street and back towards her homeplace. Lola Lane was a diligent working, kind and good woman. Her home and lawn was always tidy and had an air of perfection about it. Note
