Samuel David Hunter, born October 15, 1895 in Kansas City, Missouri; died 1977 in Neosho Home, Neosho MO.; married Neta Merle Hurley January 20, 1923 in Junction City, Missouri. Ida Hunter, born March 30, 1894 in Ellsinore, Missouri; died May 29, 1993; married Zeno Kunkleman January 1913. I don’t know how to do this, or what information to send you. HUNTER FAMILIES INFORMATION ASSESSMENT February 2, 1997 In search of James Hunter, has anybody seen James? Below are excerpts of a letter I received from grandaunt Della Hunter. Della was the wife to John Hunter, brother to my grandfather. John and Samuel were sons to James Hunter. The letter is dated January 16, 1997, sent from her home in Ellsinore, Mo. Dear great-nephew: I don't know where to start so many questions I would like to have answers for it’s been so long that I have heard nothing from any of the Hunters. I didn't sleep much that first night after I got your letter, I was so surprised and shocked that I had been gone so long. (My father had told me that Della had passed on several years before.) John passed away Nov. 24, 1981, he had Parkinson disease. He was 90 years old. I stayed on the farm that winter until April 19, 1982 when I had a big sale and moved to Ellsinore into a housing project and have been here 14 years, the oldest one here I'm 91. There is 16 units in this project and I live on the lower side. I like it here, I don't have any family here. 1 sister who lives in Calif. One who is in a home half way to St. Louis. One brother-in-law here.
