The Stone County Missouri Historical and Genealogical Society will accept queries from snail or e-mail only if the person submitting the query includes their snail-mail address. This query will be published in the Stone County newspaper along with the person's snail-mail address. If the enquirer is lucky they will receive an answer to their request directly from someone who read the request in the newspaper.

Stone County Historical & Genealogical Society will have a general membership meeting on the first Sunday of every month at 1:30 p.m. (unless otherwise notified) in the Old Christian Church in Galena. All members are encouraged to attend to enjoy the guest speakers, meet other members and become an active member of our society.

Stone County Historical & Genealogical Society Membership Policy

Membership in the society is $10 per individual; Family $18; Junior $5; Business and Professional $25.

Dues are payable before December 31, each year to ensure continuation of membership.

Each paid member receives all issues of the society newsletter (see below) and genealogical inquiries.

The Society Newsletter

The Stone County Historical & Genealogical Society is published twice yearly in May and October. It includes news of our activities, poems, stories and genealogical inquiries. Contributions of items of interest by members are welcome. All articles must be signed and origin noted. The editor reserves the right to edit articles for length and they will be printed as space permits. Mail all contributions to:
