Sometimes the Gartmans used Girtman...or the Girtmans used Gartman?
Euphemia in middle row, with husband Ed Reid sitting next to her. Mary 'Ida' Gartman was born at Doniphan in 1887, the daughter of John This picture was taken when Euphemia and her daughter were at Oceanside, California. Gartman & Euphemia Frances Bass Gartman Reed.
Ida lived there for a time and worked at a dry goods store. Ida was every inch a lady.
Euphemia became a widow in 1899 when her husband John died of typhoid fever. Euphemia can be found on the 1900 census in Texas and her children are also there although in a different county at census time. Both Ida and her mother are later on the 1910 census in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. By that time, Euphemia was married to the older gentleman in the picture, Ed Reid. Euphemia's parents lived at Pocahontas, Arkansas, although her father, William, was born in Lawrence Co., Indiana and married his wife Martha, in Schuyler Co MO.
