We are looking for records of a John Roberts.

John Roberts, 1870 Census,
Spouse - Maria (Jones) Roberts,
Children --Thomas, Francis & infant William John.

They show:

estate - $700.00
assets - $300.00
Coal Miner.

Maria left Bevier to show up at Penmark, Glamorgan, Wales in 1881 Census with Francis & William.

Thomas shows in 1891 Census, married to Elizabeth Davies.

John / Maria were married in Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales 1866. Arriving in Providence subdivision of Scranton and later Hyde Park. Maria belonged to the Church of England, John ???.

I have been unable to find ship lists coming and going.

Thomas shows birth in New York State,1866.

We have found a Baptized notice at Hove, Sussex, England, for William but unconfirmed to this date. We feel John may be one of those in a Bevier Cemetery where markers have decayed.

We also feel because of assets, they may have been land holders, but not sure how or where to get these records. They may have been destroyed in a Bevier Fire.

Researching my great great great grandfather Lewis HAGEWOOD.

Lewis is listed in the 1850 census in Macon County as being 54 years old and was born in North Carolina. Living with him is his future wife Jemima Teter although the last name says HAGEWOOD (they married in 1851).

Also living in the household are:

John HAGEWOOD, 17
Sarah HAGEWOOD, 16
Issac HAGEWOOD, 13
Benjamin HAGEWOOD, 8
William HAGEWOOD, 6

At the time of the census Jemima was only 28, so I doubt the older children are hers.

I'm looking to establish the mother of these children.

Any new information about this family, about the factory or about Willseyville in general is appreciated.
