Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Wood and Francis(sic) Wood of the County of Jasper and State of Missouri for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars received to our full satisfaction of William Wood of the county of Jasper and State of Missouri the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said William Wood and to his heirs and assigns; the following described tract or parcel of land: (viz The north East quarter of the South west quarter of Section Number Eighteen (No 18) in Township Number Thirty (No 30) of Range Number Thirty Two (No 32) containing Forty acres more or less, to have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him this said William Wood his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever to his own purposes and behoof. Know further we the said Thomas and Frances(sic) Wood do covenant to and with the said William Wood that, at and untill(sic) the sealing of these presents we may now sieze of the above granted and bargained premises, as a good and indefeasible estate, in fee simple that the same are free from all incumbrances and that we will forever warrant and defend the title thereof to said William Wood his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever. And I, Francis(sic) Wood wife of said Thomas Wood do hereby relinquish my right of dower in and to the above described premises for the consideration aforesaid. In Testimony whereof, we have hereunto set our hand and seal this nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight.
Thomas Wood {seal}Be it Remembered, That Thomas Wood and Frances(sic) Wood his wife, who are personally known to the undersigned Justice of the Peace within and for said county, to be the persons whose names are Subscribed to the foregoing Deed, as parties thereto, this day appeared before me, and acknowledged that they executed and delivered the same as their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein contained. Know the said Frances(sic) Wood being by me made acquainted with the contents of said deed acknowledged on an examination apart from her said husband that she executed the same and relinquished her right of dower in the real estate therein mentioned, freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her said husband. In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my this nineteenth day of June eighteen Hundred and Fifty Eight.
