Loretta M. Carlin, 80, of Johnson City, Tennessee, formerly of Pierce City, died at 10:55 p.m. October 3, at Johnson City Medical Center following a long illness. Mrs. Carlin was born March 30, 1921, in Wentworth, the daughter of Frank and Rose Fenski. She owned and operated Loretta's Restaurant in Kansas City and later owned and operated Schultz's Furniture Store in West Richland, Washington, before retiring and returning to Pierce City. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, St. Mary's Parish Council of Catholic Women, and Ozark Post 65 Pierce City American Legion Auxiliary and past auxiliary president. She married William T. "Bill" Carlin on December 23, 1967, and he preceded her in death November 15, 1999. Survivors include one son, two daughters, two brothers, one sister, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. #2. Services for Loretta M. Carlin, 80, formerly of Pierce City, who died October 3, were held yesterday, October 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City with Father Allan Saunders officiating. Eulogy was given by Doug Gripka. Music was provided by soloist Tom Gripka who sang Hosea and In The Garden, and the church choir which sang Be Not Afraid and On Eagle's Wings. Organist was Mary Ryder. Casketbearers were nephews Cymon Coleman, Joe Fenski, Daryl Fenski, Richard Fenske Jr., George Fenske, Allen Simon, and Randy Graham. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Wessell Funeral Home of Pierce City. |
