Obit For Rosa Belle (Roberts) Brattin

Text #1. Rosa Belle Roberts, eldest daughter of A.M. and Mary Francis Roberts was born May 25, 1859 near Rocky Comfort and departed this life January 19, 1938 at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 25 days.

She was united in marriage to Oliver J. Brattin Feb. 23, 1877. Her husband preceded her in death March 8, 1900. To this union three children were born, two sons and one daughter, Charles Otis and Walter Brattin and Mrs. Georgia Higgs. She leaves to mourn her passing the three children, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers and four sisters, T. A. Roberts of Cleburn, Texas, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Love, Webb City, MO, Mrs. Francis Love, Rocky Comfort, Missouri, G. W. Roberts of Rocky Comfort, Mrs. Ellen Edens of Exeter, MO, and Mrs. Sudie Keeling of Wheaton Missouri. One brother James Roberts preceded her in death early in life. Two half brothers, Charles Roberts of Pratt, KS and Mack Roberts, Joplin MO. and a host of other friends and relatives.

To know her was to love her. She was a true and devoted companion, kind and loving mother and grandmother. She professed faith in Christ Sept. 1, 1874 and united with the Prosperity Baptist Church at Rocky Comfort October 20 1874. She later moved her membership to the Wheaton Baptist Church to which she remained a faithful and valuable member until her Master called her home.

Funeral services were conducted at the Wheaton Baptist Church Friday Afternoon, January 21 by Rev. Charles Vanzandt and Rev. W. P. Richardson. Burial was made in Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Pogue Funeral Home.

Her full name was Arizonia Rosabelle Roberts Brattin and she married Oliver Jesse Brattin. G. W. Roberts is George Wid Roberts. Sudie Keeling is Dicy Susan Roberts Keeling, wife of Andrew Brown Keeling.
