Text | William Blake Bowers was born November 11, 1868 near Seneca, Mo., and died October 15, 1928 at his home near Stella, Missouri. He had spent his entire life in Newton and McDonald Counties. He was married to Leah R. Barringer in 1875. To this union were born four children: Albert Bowers of McNatt, Noah and Irvin Bowers of Rocky Comfort and Mrs. Posy Wolfenbarger, who preceded him in death twenty-five years ago. Mr. Bowers was a man highly esteemed by all that knew him, always ready to give freely for every good cause. Truly he was a good man, good neighbor and a good citizen. With his passing goes the last of the old Bowers line. He was converted when a young man and united with the Methodist Church and to this faith he clung until death. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Union Church near the old home, Rev. H. S. King of Purdy, Mo., officiating. The body was laid to rest under the direction of Pogue Undertaking Co. |
