Text | Leah Rebecca Barringer was born December 16, 1854 in North Carolina, and came to this state when 2 years of age. She departed this life April 20, 1929 at her home south of Stella.
She was united in marriage to W. B. Bowers when 20 years old. To this union four children were born three sons and one daughter, Irvin and Noah Bowers of Rocky Comfort, Rural Route and Albert Bowers of Stella, Mo. The daughter preceded her 26 years ago and her husband 6 months ago. She leaves the three sons, three sisters, three brothers, eight grandchildren, 13 great grand children and a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She professed her faith in Christ at the age of 18 and united with the Methodist Church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Goodnight Monday, April 22 at Union Church and the body laid to rest in the Union Cemetery under the direction of Pogue’s Undertaking. |
