| Text | George Bounous, who was age 86, of Monett, died at 4:30 p.m. November 20 at Monett Health Care Center following a long illness. Mr. Bounous was born December 22, 1912, in Monett, the son of John Bert and Mary Balmas Bounous. He was a retired Gulf Oil Company employee. He was a member of the Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Monett, the Monett Masonic Lodge 129 AF & AM, and the Monett Senior Citizens Center. He married Marie Deiley on August 15, 1935, in Monett. He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Bounous, and one sister, Josephine Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow, November 23, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Charles D'Arcy and Rev. Wade Ditty officiating. Burial will be in Waldensian Cemetery south of Monett under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, November 22, at the funeral home. |
