Text | Marie Bounous, 80, of Monett, died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday, December 6, at Monett Health Care Center following a long illness. Mrs. Bounous was born July 29, 1920, in Delaware, Oklahoma, the daughter of Nathen and Helen (Shoemaker) Deiley. She was a retired clerk from the former J. C. Penney Store in Monett and a homemaker. She was a member of the Waldensian Presbyterian Church south of Monett. She married George Bounous on August 15, 1935, in Monett, and he preceded her in death November 20, 1999. Survivors include one son of Monett; one daughter of Hobbs, New Mexico; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frances Deiley, Joe Deiley, and Charles Deiley; and one sister, Roselyn Blum. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, at the Waldensian Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles D'Arcy and Rev. Wade Ditty officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Services for Marie Bounous, 80, of Monett, who died December 6, were held at 11 a.m. December 9 at Waldensian Presbyterian Church south of Monett with Rev. Charles D'Arcy and Rev. Wade Ditty officiating. Music was provided by soloist Dale Sullens who sang The Lord's Prayer and How Great Thou Art. Pianist was Debbie Wilson. Casketbearers were Larry Wormington, Ben Bounous, Victor Arnaud, Danny Wormington, Loren Strouse, and Richard Wormington. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
