Text | Services for Velma Banks, 73, Washburn, route 1, who died at 8:25 p.m. Friday at Bates Memorial Hospital, Bentonville, Ark., where she had been a patient since Aug. 30, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Axley's Culver Chapel, Cassville. The Rev. Sims Szymkowiak will officiate. Burial will be in Dent Cemetery, southwest of Washburn. Pallbearers are Ed Banks, Audrey Rollins, Danny Rose, John Wagner, Donnie Webb, and Raymond Weston. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4. p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Banks was born April 24, 1908, at Stillwell, Okla. She had lived in Washburn since 1926. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God, Carthage. She married Sam Banks in Aug. 1926, in Washburn. He survives. Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Freda Rose, Mrs. Wanda Senter, and Mrs. Dorothy Morgan, all of Washburn; two sisters, Mrs. Margie Porter, Wheatland, Wyo., and Mrs. Grace Murek, state of California, and four grandchildren. |
