Text | Services for Samuel Otis "Sam" Banks, 83, Washburn route 1, who died at 6 p.m. Thursday at a Cassville nursing home after a long illness, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Axley's Culver Chapel, Cassville. Bob Eckman, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Dent Cemetery, west of Washburn. The family will receive friends after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Banks was born July 21, 1903, in Washburn and was a lifetime resident here. He was a retired farmer and stockman. He married Velma Poe Aug. 16, 1926, in Cassville. She died Sept. 18, 1981. Survivors include three daughters, Freda Lou Rose, Wanda Dean Senter, and Dorothy Marie Morgan, all of the Washburn area; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |
