Text | Services for Lott Gilbert Banks, 89, Washburn route 1, who died at 7:35 a.m. Sunday at a Cassville nursing home, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Antioch Church of Christ, near Washburn. John Selleck, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in the Dent Cemetery, near Washburn, under direction of Mason Chapel, Joplin. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until 9 a.m. Wednesday, when it will be moved to the church, where it will remain until time of services. Born Aug. 1, 1886 in Barry County, he lived most of his life in McDonald County. He was a retired farmer and was married April 8, 1906 to Rilda Mahurin, who died Aug. 18, 1960. Survivors include five sons, Denver Banks, Bryce Banks, Vernon Banks, Ed Banks and Armon Banks, all of Washburn; six daughters, Mrs. Hazel Schrader Pampa, Tex; Mrs. Edith Wade and Mrs. Oleta Woodard, both of Washburn; Mrs. Mae Laughlin, Wheaton; Mrs. Maggie Woodard, Pineville, and Mrs. Geneva Antle, Exeter; a brother, Sam Banks, Washburn; Two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Phillips, Washburn, Mrs. Pluma Stevenson, address unavailable; 38 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. |
