| Text | WASHBURN, Mo. -- Denver G. Banks, 73, Washburn route 1, died at 11:39 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark., following a short illness. Mr. Banks was born in Washburn on Oct. 21, 1911. He had lived in the Washburn area all of his life. He was a retired farmer. He married Ellen Banks on Aug. 15, 1929. She died on Dec. 16, 1983. On Feb. 14, 1984, he married Lillian Burns in Seligman. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Glen Banks, Washburn route 1; two stepsons, Bill Cargile, Bella Vista, Ark., and Tom Cargile, Seligman; One stepdaughter, Betty A. Roller, Seligman; four brothers, Bryce Banks, Vernon Banks, Ed Banks and Armon Banks, all of Washburn, four sisters, Hazel Schrader, Pampa, TX, Oleta Lawson, Pea Ridge, Ark., Maggie Woodard, Pineville, and Geneva Antle, Exeter; six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Williamson Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Bob Burns officiating. Burial will be in Dent Cemetery, southwest of Washburn. Pallbearers will be Ernest fletcher, Fred Banks, Loyd Shrum, Terry Schrader, Farrel Wade and Edward Fletcher. The body will lie in state at Mason-Woodard Funeral home in Joplin until 5 p.m. today. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Cassville funeral home. Research Note: Born on 21 Oct 1911 in Washburn, Barry, Missouri. She died Dec. 15, 1983) and Lillian (Burns) Cargile (Marr. Feb. 14, 1984 in Seligman, Mo.) Father of Glen Banks. Step-father of Betty A. Roller, Bill Cargile, & Tom Cargile. Son of Lott Gilbert & Rilda Caroline (Mahurin) Banks. Denver died at 11:39 a.m. at St. Mary's Hospital following a short illness. On 15 Aug 1929 when Denver Glen was 17, he first married Sarah Ellen Fletcher, daughter of Luellen "Louie" Anthony Fletcher & Fannie Tennessee Cargile, in Washburn, Barry, Missouri. Born on 21 Sep 1913 in Washburn, Barry, Missouri. Sarah Ellen died in Barry Co. Missouri on 15 Dec 1983, she was 70. They had one child. |
