Probate & Will - Records at the Missouri State Archives and Courthouse

• These records are listed by Name of Estate, name of executer, guardian or curator, box number and sometimes the year. The probate records start as early as 1855, but they are far and few between.
• When visiting you find the person you are looking for in the Book of Deeds, write down the info and then they take you upstairs to the box of goodies.
• When writing be sure to include a self addressed stamped envelope and a check made out to Barry County Probate Division.
• It is best to call first and ask about the availability of the record you are looking for and ask about the cost.
• If you do not want to call first most of the county offices charge $2.00 per name.
• The Barry County Clerk of Probate office has been moved to about 3 blocks from the courthouse.
