Washburn,
Barry Co., MO
Research Note: There is a problem with the death date. Richard's cemetery stone at Washburn Prairie reads R. D. Hickox, Aug. 1, 1808 - July 4, 1901. Since this notice of his death was published in 1914, there has to be a mistake in the death date that was recorded on the stone, because his birth date is the same as given in 1900 on the census and so it appears to be correct. His death date according to the paper was June 8, 1914. However, Richard is not with Oscar in the 1910 Census. His wife was named Nancy Hill and she died in 1858 in McHenry Co., IL and is buried there in Oakland Cemetery. - 1870 Census, Georgia, Jasper, Missouri - Oscar Hickox, age 32, born IL; Cordelia, age 28, born MI; George W., age 10, born IL; Jesse, age 3, born KS; Richard D., age 60, born NY; Loy Huldah, age 18, born VA; Albert Southwell, age 25, born England; Rebecca Southwell, age 19, born OH. - 1880 Census, Dakota Territory, Minnehaha, Sioux Falls, District 20 - R. D.
