Cause of death lymphoma-carcinoma. - Obit - Ami Reynaud, a life long resident of the Monett community, died Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Frisco hospital in St. Louis, where he had been a patient since Nov. 28. Mr. Reynaud, son of the late Paul Francis and Mary Martha Reynaud, was born Jan. 31, 1889, south of Monett. His age at the time of death was 61 years, 11 months, and 1 day. He was successfully engaged in farming most of his life, residing south of Monett. He retired from the farm seven years ago, and after moving into town began working for the Frisco. Because of his health, he gave up that work, Aug. 18, of this year. The survivors include his wife, Mrs. Georgia Ada Reynaud; six daughters, Shirley Reynaud of the home, Mrs. J. P. Tucker of Springfield, Mrs. Charles Howerton of Tulsa OK, Mrs. Paul Lasley and Mrs. Troy McCubbin of Monett and Mrs. Jack Palmer of Pasadena, CA; two sons, Doran Reynaud of Springfield and Carl Reynaud of Idaho; ten grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. P. S. Planchon of Monett; two brothers Paul Emile, both of Monett. - August 21, 1913, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Born, Friday, August 15, to Mr. and Mrs. Ami Reynaud, two miles south of Monett, a ten pound daughter. Informant was Earl Reynaud of Monett, Barry Co., MO. - Emile Reynaud, age 24, married Maud Wilkes, age 20, on Dec. 31, 1911 in Barry Co., MO. - Cassville Republican, Thursday, June 19, 1919 - Fined For Wreckless (sic) Driving: A. L. Warren of Pea Ridge, Ark., was placed under arrest Sunday and brought to the county jail upon a charge of wrecklessly (sic) driving an automobile on the public highway while in an intoxicated condition. Sunday forenoon on the road between Monett and Purdy, Warren ran his car into a buggy in which Mr. and Mrs. Emil Reynaud and little son were driving. The buggy was badly wrecked, Mrs. Reynaud slightly injured and the little boy pretty badly injured for a time. Mr. Reynaud escaped without any injury. Warren was taken before Justice Tom Ferguson of Purdy Monday and entered a plea of guilty and Prosecuting attorney Smith advised that his punishment be assessed at $500 and costs. Research Note: Brian John Whitson, of Branson Missouri, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, of an apparent heart attack. He was 50 years old. Son of John Henry Whitson and Bonnie Downs. He attended Sequiota elementary school in Springfield, before moving to Branson in 1976. He was a 1984 graduate of Branson High School, and lived the remainder of his life in the Branson community. Brian operated Skate World, a family-owned business that was started by his parents, John and Bonnie Whitson, during the 1970's. Brian had a life-long love for roller skating, and was involved in numerous skating activities for area youth. Brian was a member of the Roller Skating Association for rink operators. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha. He was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie Downs Whitson, and a niece, Chanel Schroll. Research Note: She was the daughter of William August Viehmann and LaVerne (Miller) Viehmann. Alice was a graduate of Ritenour High School in St. Louis and of Burge School of Nursing in Springfield. She spent a number of years as an RN, most of which was as St. Vincent's Cox Monett Hospital. She served as Director of the Barry-Lawrence Development Center in some of the early years of its existence. Alice also served as President of the Missouri Jaycee Women and was charter President of the Missouri Women of Today. Alice was involved with the Barry-Lawrence Association for Retarded Citizens (BLARC) from its inception, having served as its president. She continued her involvement after it merged to form the ARC of the Ozarks, representing the Monett area until just a few months ago. Alice married Steve Wise on July 15, 1972 in St. Louis, MO.
