Shiels Farm

I have one or two of the old house at Oakland Grange. When I was there in 1983 there was a guy named LeRoy Light (or something like that) living on the property. He said the old family home had burned down some years back so there was a newer house on the property.

This family journal was transcribed last year from Andrew's trip (my Grandfather), when he and his wife, went back to Monett in 1946. I have a copy of that in my files.

My family said that people talked much over the years of that "trip that Andy and Hope made to Missouri."

Andrew left the Missouri homestead as a teenager, went back to Scotland for job training and then starting working on the West Coast and never really lived in Missouri again.
