Directions: From the junction of highways 248 & 39 (close to Jenkins, Mo). Travel south on Hwy 39 abt 1 mile to farm road 2122 turn left. Follow 2122 until you come to farm road 2130. Follow 2130 to the end of the road.

There is another way into this cemetery but you would have to ford a creek and we were warned against this since some 4 wheel drive trucks couldn't make it across the creek. We took the other way around the creek to this cemetery. There is an old vacant farm house on one side of the road and an old barn across the road from there. The Snider Cemetery is behind and beside the barn.

The cemetery has a very strong pipe fence around it with a gate for entrance. It looked like the owner had fenced a lot of extra property in with the cemetery but he told us there were several unmarked graves in the cemetery. He said the cemetery is mowed once a year so it wasn't too overgrown. We read all the stones that were readable. The owner said the farm was for sale and he wanted the cemetery to be protected since his great-great grandparents are buried there.

Cemetery History: The Snyder (Snider) Cemetery is located in eastern Barry County, Missouri in a "U" shaped bend of Flat Creek. The George Wilson family had settled on the land by the 1840s. George Wilson's son, Leroy S. Wilson, originally held title to the land with the cemetery, but later sold the land to his father.

Sarah Wilson, a daughter of George, married a Snider, and the land and cemetery was later owned by Snider descendants. (Teresa Wilson Wiese)
