Sapp, died at their home north of Exeter, Friday Dec. 14 at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 14 days after a short illness. She was born in Greene County, MO, on Nov. 26, 1862 and when a small child moved with her parents to Seneca, where they died. After their death she made her home with different relatives until about the age of seventeen when she went to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Washington Montgomery. She was married to T. N. Sapp on Feb. 9, 1882 and to this union were born seven children, six of whom are living. They are James, Sanford, Clarence, Mrs. Flossie Linebarger, Mrs. Lizzie Yarnall and Mrs. Ina Bayless, all living in this county. Her first born, Ona Pearl, died when about six months of age. She leaves beside her husband, Uncle Newt and children, thirty grandchildren, four grandchildren having preceded her in death, also one brother, R. H. The funeral services were held Wednesday June 12 at Mt. Pleasant church, conducted by Rev. Luther Carlin. The large crowd at the funeral was a strong testimonial of the high esteem in which he was held by the people of the community where he had lived for many years. He leaves a widow and two children, a son and a daughter; father, mother, two sisters and one brother. He died from the effects of typhoid fever. Elmon Sooter of Monett, MO was the informant. - Cassville Republican, July 10, 1913 - Dead: Sanford Sooter of near Butterfield died Saturday night after several weeks illness from complication of diseases, age about 25 years. He was the son of Asbury Sooter, and had lived in the vicinity of Butterfield all his life. He was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed the confidence of his many friends. He is survived by a wife, other immediate relatives and a large circle of friends. The funereal services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Ennes Sunday afternoon at the Mt. Pleasant Church and interment made in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery. - Cassville Republican, July 17, 1913 - Departed this life, July 6, 1913, at his home, one mile northeast of Butterfield, Sanford Vanburen Sooter, of quick consumption, age 24 years, 10 months, 27 days. He had been sick for sometime. He bore his suffering with meekness and when conscious, greeted all with a cheery word and smile. All that loving hands could do was done. He was converted in 1910 and joined the Methodist Church. He was united in marriage March 17, 1912 to Miss Nelsie Hilburn. He leaves to mourn his death a wife, his parents, M. A. Sooter and wife, one brother Elmon, of Monett, one sister, Lydia, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 6 by Rev. J. W. Ennis and interment made in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Research Note: She was the daughter of Jack and Allien (Zoll) Autrey. On December 31, 1965, she was united in marriage with Jerry Graftenreed, and they spent the next decade living and working in various parts of the country. On October 29, 1975, in Exeter, Missouri she was married to J. D. Stubbs. She was preceded in death by Jerry, JD, and both of her parents. Ruth grew up in High Ridge, Missouri graduating from Northwest High School in 1965. Following her first marriage and the birth of their son she settled in Cassville, Missouri in 1975, where she would have four daughters with JD. After working at EFCO Corporation in Monett, Missouri for a few years she started at FASCO Industries in Cassville, Missouri where she worked for forty-three years retiring in the Specifications Department in 2019.
