METZ TRAIN AND DEPOT
Metz, Missouri
The smoke from the construction train on the new railroad can be seen from the grade north of town. The rails will be laid here by the last of the week.

METZ DEPOT BURGLARIZED.
The Thief Carried Off the Letter Mail.
Special to the MAIL.
Metz, Mo., Feb. 10 -- Last night some time after the 9:20 north bound train passed here the depot was entered, by a sneak thief, by prizing (sic) up one of the windows.
There was nothing taken, which the agent could miss, except the letter mail. The mail sack had been opened and rifled of its contents which was probably very little. As the night mail is usually very light it is not delivered to the post office until morning. There is no clue to the party.
