I'm searching for any information I can find about my great grandparents... Mahala (Presley) England who married Monroe Archie Gilbert (aka M.A. Gilbert) The marriage would have been between the years 1887 - 1895.

Also connected to this family would have been the first husband to Mahala - his name was Joel (or Jon) W. England. He died in 1887 and I would like to find where he is buried.

Thanks for any help regarding this family.

Looking for descendents of Rosco and Nellie (SIEFKES) HAMMERSLEY. Nellie's parents were Albert and Eliza (BIXLER) SEIFKES. They moved from Indiana to the Nevada, MO area in the early 1880's with her father, Adam BIXLER. Albert may have died before 1900 since he is not listed in the 1900 census and Eliza was living with Roscoe and Nellie at this time. The 1920 census has Eliza living alone at 314 N. Clay St. in Nevada, MO. Adam BIXLER was my gg grandfather and I would really like to know about this branch of my family.

Surnames: Anderson, Page
Submitter: George Page
Date: February 01, 2005

During research of my great grandfather, Ava E Page of Bates Co., Mo, I found that he was enumerated with the family of A.G. Anderson in the 1860 Federal Census of Nevada, Vernon Co., Mo. Ava E. Page was then 25 and a school teacher who owned land at the time in adjacent Bates County but could not occupy it because of the Border Wars.

Can anyone offer any insight about A.G. Anderson and perhaps my Ava E. Page? Do you know if A.G. Anderson served during the Civil War? If so, in which unit and in what capacity?
