I am seeking information on the Koontz family that settled in Vernon Co. Missouri. They are on the 1903 Land Records for Vernon Co. I am especially interested in any descendants of Andrew and Elizabeth Ann Sisson Koontz. Elizabeth Ann Sisson Koontz is buried in Richards Cemetery in Vernon, Richards, Missouri. Along with her is her son Franklin who is listed as Frank on Cemetery records and her daughter-in-law Amanda who was married to Frank. Another son, Thomas C. Koontz, lived in Vernon County and is buried at Balltown Cemetery. I have the following information that I received from Judy Ellis who did cemetery lookups for me. Also does anyone know where Frank Reid Koontz is buried?

I am searching for the obituary for Ira Holland who passed away in Vernon County in March 1978. Perhaps his obituary might also lists his wife's date of death. If so, I would also appreciate receiving a copy of her obituary. I am also looking for his parents, James & Madie/Mary Holland, who might also be buried in Vernon County.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I'm searching for obit or any death info for my 2nd GrGrandmother Elizabeth Elender Smiley Black, b.1853/Ky, d.?/Mo. Married 1878/M, James A Black, b.1856/Mo d. 1939/Ca. Last census I find Elizabeth & James Black on was in the 1920 Dover twp, Vernon Co Mo census. As James moved in 1936 to live with my Grandparents in California I feel Elizabeth died in the early 1930's, of course this is just a guess. Thanks, Toni Maize

Hay, was just into another section of USGenweb, Vernon Co Mo and noted that Sheldon Mo is in Vernon Co. I didn't know that, sorry I live in Nevada. I've quite a lot of ancestors from Sheldon Missouri, Charles Albert (called Albert) & Anna Applegate Maize (need death & buriel info for them), Nancy M Applegate Llewellyn (need marriage, children, death & buriel for her), Catherine Applegate Hughes (need marriage, children, death & buriel for her), and Mary P Applegate Waggoner (It seems Mary died before her parents who died in 1895, need death buriel & husband/children info for Mary). All, with the exception of Charles Albert Maize were children of Jacob & Elizabeth Henry Applegate who lived in Putnam Co Mo. Thanking you, Toni Maize

Am searching for Adam BIXLER who left Marshall Co., IN and moved to Nevada, MO in 1880 with his daughter and son-in-law, Albert and Eliza SEIFKES. Adam's surname was BIXEL until he changed it in the late 1870's. He was born in OH, married Tenny, Gena, or Christina MASE (name changes in Census but is same person) who died in Marshall Co., IN. They were married in OH. A Census states Adam's father was born in Switzerland although family insists he was from Germany. Mother unknown. Notes in area newspapers show Adam returned to visit family in Marshall Co. He died and was buried in MO. I have been trying to learn more about where he came from for over 20 years to no avail. I would also like to know what happened to Adam and the SEIFKES after they left IN. Thanks for any information.
