PHOTOS - IDENTIFICATION NEEDED
If you have family photos connected to Vernon County, Missouri that you cannot identify, please send them to be posted here -- perhaps another researcher can identify the people or has the same picture with the peoples' names written on it. 3. This photo postcard was sent from Lilla (Overstreet) Caton to her son, William S. Caton, probably in the 1920s. The house might be that of Elizabeth (Westfall) Caton, and she might be one of the women in the picture. Submitted by Nancy Caton. The seated lady on the right has a folded St. Louis newspaper in her lap.

4. This is a very large photo taken by Whipple Studio in Nevada, MO. This picture was taken on the steps of the then new Post Office at the corner of West Cherry and North Ash Streets. This building, now vacant, was most recently the Sheriff's office. Note that this is the main entrance with lampposts and majestic columns on the south side of the building (W. Cherry Street), and the building had revolving doors at the time. These may be the postal workers at the time this Post Office was built. Can you help identify these men? 31. Rev. James Franklin McClellan (abt 1848-1927) was a minister in the Olive Branch Baptist Church and the Ketterman Baptist Church (and possibly other rural Baptist Churches in eastern Vernon and western Cedar Counties) in the early 1900s.
