PHOTOGRAPHS OF PIONEERS ARE A REAL TREASURES:
SHARE THEM!
Would you like to have a photograph of your great, great grandparents who were early pioneer settlers in Vernon County, Missouri? Do you have a wedding photograph of an ancestor who lived in Vernon County in the late 1890s or early 1900s?
Through this website, the Vernon County, Missouri USGenWeb Project will help share photographs of early-day residents by posting them on Biography pages. To help identify the time period of photographs, a page is being developed which lists the photographers and the dates that they were in operation in Vernon County.
Scan old family photographs at a minimum dpi of 300 (higher resolution is okay also) and email them to the Vernon Co Coordinator. Include some biographical information about the family such as where they lived, when they were in Vernon County, family stories, etc., and the identity of the people in the picture. A biography page will be created for the family with your contact information listed. See these examples of biography pages with submitted photographs.
Please send photographs which were taken prior to about 1920 and please identify the individuals in the photograph.
Pictures are the treasures which we can share with others...
honor your ancestors by sharing photographs of them.
