WILLIAM M. STUART

William M. Stuart

(Farmer, Section 32, Post-office, Hoover).

   Mr. Stuart’s present homestead of 160 acres is situated in the western part of this township, and here he has made his home for a number of years, gaining for himself a comfortable competence.  His management of the farm would indicate him to be an experienced farmer, and such he is, for he was brought up to that calling and has always followed it.  His birth occurred November 9, 1841, in Trigg county, Ky., his parents being Wiley and Frances (Ferrell) Stuart, both Virginians by birth.  William M. was reared in Christian county, of his native State, and remained there until 1879, when he cast his fortunes with Vernon county.  This has continued to be his home, and his career in subsequent years has proven the wisdom of his choice in making such a location.  November 13, 1862, Mr. Stuart was married to Miss Sirena Armstrong, who was born in Christian county, Ky., and eight children have been given them:  George W., James W., Jesse P., William F., Sarah V., Frances M., Ulysses and Lucian.  Mr. S. is a member of the M. E. Church, and also belongs to the Masonic fraternity.  Three children of the six originally in his parents’ family are living, and of these William is the eldest.
