JAMES NAPOLEON SALLEE

  

 J. N. SALLEE DIED

                         TUESDAY MORNING

                                                AT LEAVENWORTH, KAS.

    J. N. Sallee, of Washington township, seventy-nine years old, died at the soldiers' home at Leavenworth, Kas., at 11:30 Tuesday morning, of a complication of diseases.  Mr. Sallee went to the home about a month ago.

    Mr. Sallee was married three times.  He is survived by his third wife, his children, Arthur Sallee, Cleveland, Okla.; Chas. Sallee, Kimberly, Idaho; Mrs. Lulu Tucker, Moline, Kas.; Mrs. Effie Miller and Mrs. Pearl Goodwin, of Kansas City, Kas.; Mrs. Chas. Capps, Ketterman; twenty-five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

    Mr. Sallee was born in Warren county, Missouri, and during the Civil war he served in the Union army.  He came to Vernon county forty-seven years ago.  He was a member of the Christian church of Nevada, and of the G. A. R. post here.  The family have the sympathy of their numerous friends in their hour of sorrow.

    The remains will be brought to Nevada and buried at Berea cemetery, near Ketterman, but the funeral arrangements have not been made.

JAS. SALLEE FUNERAL

                    FRIDAY MORNING

    The funeral of James Sallee will be held Friday morning at Ketterman and interment will be at the Berea cemetery.  Members of General Joe Bailey's G. A. R. Post will attend to pay tribute to their deceased comrade.
