ANNIE WALTON
Annie
Walton died at the home of her son, F.M. Walton on Indian Creek, at 6:30
o'clock last Saturday evening.
One of
the oldest residents of our county. Mrs. Walton was born in Kentucky 84
years, 1 month and 10 days ago. She came to Texas County 75 years ago,
being one of the oldest settlers registered at each Old Settlers Reunion.
She was married to David H. Walton in 1841, he dying in 1862. Nine children
resulted from this union, six of whom are still living: John D. of
Arkansas, Nancy Daugherty and Mary Brown of Oklahoma, Lou Neal of Roubidoux,
F.S. of Oklahoma, and F.M. of near Houston.
Funeral
services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. M.S. Carter and burial
was at New Hope.
The Herald
joins with other friends in earnest sympathy to the sorrowing children
in the loss of their best and truest friend and loving mother.
Died
at the home of her son Marion Walton, Saturday evening. Grandma Walton,
she was an aged lady and had many friends who will sadly miss her. We extend
our sympathy to bereaved ones.
