James Daniel Scheets, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scheets, was born May, 1863, in Ohio, and passed away at the home of his brother, Walter Scheets, January 28, 1944, making his age at time of death 80 years, 8 months.

He was married to Arminta Hickam when a young man, and to this union two children were born, John Scheets of Rexburg, Idaho, and Ellen Jolly of Los Angeles, California, and he is also survived by five step-children, one of whom is present, James K. Hickam of Oronogo, Missouri, and 3 half-brothers, Walter Scheets, of Yukon, Lee Scheets of Licking, Fern Scheets, location unknown, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He professed faith in Christ when a young man and lived a true Christian life.  He was a friend to everyone he met.  All who know him loved him.

Funeral at Big Creek Church, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. E. Burney of Mountain Grove.  Burial was made in the church cemetery nearby.
