Vernon Lee Medlock, son of Rosetta and Spencer Medlock was born Mar. 11, 1899 at Raymondville Mo. and passed away at his home near Mtn. View Mo. Jan. 15, 1970.  Making his age at time of death 70 yrs. 10 months and 5 days.  He is survived by his wife Rosa of the home, 12 children;  Roscoe, Lee, and Gilbert of St. Louis MO, James of the state of CA, Ronald of Houston Mo., Ervin, Denny, Mike, and Scott of the home;  Cleta Shultz Rolla Mo.; Anna Renshaw and Shirley Farrell of Independence MO, Sandra of the home;  One brother, Frank Medlock of Yukon, one sister Cora Benefield of Yukon Mo, 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren,  many more relatives and a host of friends.  He is preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby, his parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
    He spent much of his life in Texas Co. where farming was his trade.  He had lived in the Mtn. View community for the last 11 yrs.  He gave his heart to Jesus many yrs ago, and remained faithful until his passing.  He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
    Funeral services were held Jan. 17th at 2 o'clock in the Evan-Elliott Chapel with Rev. P. L. Cronk, officiating.  Burial was in the Allen Cemetery.
