Joseph Bennett McGlassion and his wife, Edith (maiden name possibly
Moore), homesteaded 160 acres in Stone County just south of Crane in 1896.
His obituary which appeared in the Crane Chronicle, dated November 6, 1919,
Page 1, Column, 5, states that he "...lived in Mt. Home community for thrity
five years."
