John Henry & Sealy Evaline (Price) Anderson

   John Henry Anderson oldest son of William and Jane (Scruggs) Anderson was born July 16, 1826 in Pendleton District, South Carolina. The family moved to Moniteau Co. MO in the early 1830s, and then settled in 1846 in the horseshoe bend of Crane creek about two mile above its juncture with James river, in what became in 1851, Stone Co. MO. This land comprising about 700 acres has been in the family for over 150 years. He married in 1848 Elizabeth Wright daughter of Arron and Nancy (Pritchard) Wright,
they had six children, 3 of whom died in infancy. Betsy died in 1880 and John Henry then married in 1881 Sealy Evaline (Price) Goble daughter of Jeremiah and Celia (Lunsford) Price, they had four children. Evaline married J. Norman Jones in 1911 after John Henry died and lived in Hurley, MO.
   John Henry served as Justice of the Peace for several years, he was elected County Judge preceeding the Civil War but did not serve as he was away in the war. He was first in the Stone Co. Home Guards, then Co K 72nd MSM, and Sgt. and scout in the 7th Provisional, After the war he was Associate Justice then Presiding Justice and Probate Judge of the County Court of Stone Co.  John Henry and both his wive's are buried in Anderson Cemetery.
