*Ruby Coker was my aunt. My mother sent me this photo several years ago.  She said that Aunt Ruby asked for a new "store bought" dress for the picture taking.  My grandfather (Claud Coker) was a farmer in Stone County.  At the time there was no money for store bought things, and all the family's clothing was hand made by my grandmother.  Grandpa Claud "worked out" for neighbors for months to earn extra money to buy Aunt Ruby the dress she wanted.  It was her first "store bought" dress. She was so proud of it, and never forgot how hard her father worked to buy it. (Photo courtesy of Jo Dunne)
