The photo below was submitted by Jeff Metcalf.  It was taken in 1923 and shows Jeff's grandfather, Joe Metcalf (third boy from the teacher in the back row).  Jeff would like to know the identity of the teacher and the other students. 

Joe Metcalf was was born in Crane in 1914 to Lee and Lola (Peters) Metcalf.  He was also the grandson of William Hardy Metcalf, and the great-grandson of former Stone County Judge Alfred Peters.

Jeff was not certain that the photo was taken at Crane School until comparision to another Crane School photo revealed that it was the same background. If you can identify any of the students please email Jeff Metcalf at JSCMETC@aol.com
