Query: HORN: Lou Nell Bath, 1766 Beacon Point Circle, Grove, OK 74344.

E-mail: bath@gcinet.net

Jesse Horn, who was born in 1783 in Pennsylvania, was my great-great-great-grandfather.

He died around 1859 in Ripley County, Mo.

My great-great-grandfather, Joseph Horn, who was born in 1834 in Ripley County, Mo., had older siblings born in Alabama, Tennessee and Montgomery County, Ill. and younger ones born in Ripley County, Mo. and Izard County, Ark.

I'm searching for information about this family.

Reply: The 1840 census for Izard County, Ark. shows Jesse Horn as head of household with six males and five females. Only the name of the head of household was given until the 1850 census.

Jesse Horn is head of household in the 1850 Ripley County, Mo. census in White River Township. He is age 67. There is no wife listed in the household. There are six children: Jesse, 21; Crey J., 19; Joseph, 16; Charlotte, 14; David, 13 and the youngest, William, is 10-years-old and born in Arkansas, living with him.

In 1860 Ripley County census Jesse Horn, age 30, has a wife, Judy, 26, both born in Tennessee. They have three children listed: William, 9; Jacob, 6 and John, 2.

William Horn, age 19, is living in the J.A.D. Waters household in the 1860 Ripley County census.

Ripley County, Mo. Marriages, published by Thelma S. McManus, 507 Vine Street, Doniphan, Mo. 63935, show that Charlotty Horn married Dotson West on Aug. 17, 1877.

I wonder if you have, or could direct me to someone that does have, a plot plan of the Lindley Prairie Cemetery?

I have several ancestors that are buried there and I would like to find their gravesites without having to tromp all over the place if it can be avoided.

I know how to get to the cemetery. I just need to know how to find the gravesite once I'm there.

I appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance.

Reply: The Cedar County, Missouri GenWeb site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mocedar/index.htm has an alphabetical reading of Lindley Prairie Cemetery online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mocedar/cem_lp_pl2o.htm

Query: ALLEN - ENGLISH - GORE: Jim Allen, 2109 NW Greenwood Place, Redmond, OR 97756.

E-mail: JCA46@bendbroadband.com

I am searching for the parents and siblings of Joseph Allen and James Madison Allen, who were probably brothers or close relatives.

Joseph was the Cedar County Clerk for several years.

According to the 1850 Cedar County, Mo. census, Joseph was born in Tennessee in 1809.

His neighbor, James Madison Allen, was born in Tennessee in 1813.

Joseph married a Matilda English in Ray County, Mo. around 1833 to 1834 and James Madison married Phoebe English in Polk County in 1836.

Later Joseph married a Ruellah Gore and James Madison married Lucy Ann Gore.

James Madison died in 1851.

Joseph was named guardian of Mary Ann and Minerva Jane, who were the two oldest daughters of James Madison and Phoebe English Allen.

Any information about the parents and/or siblings of either Joseph or James Madison Allen will be very much appreciated.

Thanks again.

Query: BROWN - WILKERSON -BROWNFIELD - SAYLOR: Shirley Sooper in Monett, Mo.

E-mail: sasoap@hotmail.com

I've had good luck researching most of my family but have hit a brick wall with my great-grandfather, Samuel Brown.

According to family legend, which is certainly not infallible, Sam was born in Ireland. He left Ireland at the age of 14 to come to the United States. This would have been 1849 to 1851.

Sam was born in 1836, and his age checks through every census I've been able to find. Sam was living in Pochahontas, Randolph County, Ark. by 1859.

He married Sarah Wilkerson first in 1859. He married Sarah Brownfield second in 1870 and had one child, Emma. He married Annie Saylor third and they had five children: Mary, Rose, Charlie, James, and Henry.

I have not been able to find Samuel's parents. The only Samuel I've found who fits the time slot came to the United States on the Lumley with a William, Margaret, and James.

Does anyone know how I might find his family in Ireland? Many of the records in that country have been destroyed due to constant fighting.

I've tried searching church records with no luck.

I would certainly appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Query: WEATHERMAN - LUCKEY - PARKS - CROSSLAND: Roy Burrows, 8648 Orvieto Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89117.

E-mail: roy.burrows@cox.net

I am seeking information on Susie A. Weathermon or Weatherman of Mountain Grove, Mo. She was born in 1880 in Missouri.

Susie A. married Jefferson Dowdy Weatherman, who was born on June 6, 1870, in Dunn, Texas County, Mo.

It seems that they were married about 1883. Susie A. would have been 13 and Jeff 23. She is gone by April 1900. She is shown as dead but is it possible that they were divorced.

Her maiden name is not clear. I am trying to find if her maiden name was Wilson, also who her parents were.

They had three children together:

• Eva Lula Weatherman, who was born on Aug. 17,1894, and died in 1984. She married Orille Ernest Luckey who was born on Sept. 29,1890, in Kansas and died about 1949.

• William J. Weatherman, who was born on Dec. 28, 1896, and died on March 27, 1985.

• Mary Ellen Weatherman, who was born on Jan. 27, 1898, and died April 29, 1988. She married a man named Parks.

Jefferson Dowdy Weatherman married Nellie P. Crossland around April 1901 and they had 11 children.

Jeferson died on Feb. 18,1943, in Dunn, Texas County, Mo.

I am trying to find Susie A.'s maiden name and her parents' names.

Any help is appreciated.

Query: HENSON / HINSON: Doris Wilson Barnhart in Deepwater, Mo.

E-mail: dlwbar@direcway.com

I am doing research on the Hinson or Henson family in Henry County, Mo.

In 1880 Austin Henson lived in Henry County, Osage Township, Mo. Austin came from Ohio as a child and died in 1897.

I am unable to find his mother. In the 1880 census in Henry County I find a Thomas Bennett family with Margaret as wife and children: Jennie, Julia, Allien, Grace, Charlie and Maude. In addition Mary Henson is listed as mother.

I was wondering if she, Mary, is the mother of Austin Henson? She was 77-years-old in 1880 and was born in Ohio.

I can't find them buried in Henry County anywhere.

All of the family of Austin Henson/Hinson is accounted for and most of Elizabeth Adams family who lived next door to them have been accounted for. They are all my relatives.

I am looking to find where Mary Henson fits in. I can't find her in Ohio, only possibly with Richard Henson in 1870 census.

Please email me if you have any leads. Thanks.

Query: SEAGRAVES / SEGRAVES: Steve Seagraves, P.O. Box 66442, SeaTac, WA 98166

E-mail: ourgenealogies@aol.com

I am looking for my paternal grandfather's half-brother's family.

I believe the man's name was William Seagraves or Segraves.

It is believed that he lived in Southern Missouri about 1900 to 1935.

My grandpa's name was John Sisson Seagraves.

John's father, Goodman Seagraves, was married twice, first in North Carolina and then in Mississippi.

Thanks for your help.
