Jasper County in 1851. The family thinks that maybe sometime later he started
just using the Waldo name as maybe he was given this name as a middle name
because he was a child born out of wedlock, so when he was an adult he
dropped the Duncan name. We have searched through our files here in Dade

Sept. 10, 1998 Thursday Dear Sir: I am searching for information on my Great
Grandfather Charles Albert Madden and his parents William and Mary Clark
Madden; I know at one time the family was in Il., as his older siblings were
born in Il.. According to Charles obit. he was born June 1, 1864 in Saline Co.
Mo., however I don't think that this is correct as his older sisters obit., shows
that she was married on Jan. 19, 1865. Some of the family that is here says that
the family came here directly from Il. I have some information that shows that
the parents William and Mary Madden were both born in Ohio, but don't know
if this is correct. What the Dade County, Mo. census shows that one of his
sisters came to Dade County in the mid 1880's. Nothing here shows that the
parents ever came to Missouri, one of the sisters was found in the Chartion
County census in 1870. Along with the one brother Tom Madden, one sister
Tesa Lee who married a Stephenson was living in the Northern area around
Chartion County. His siblings was Sarah (Sally) born in 1845 in Il, Jane born in
1847, Tom born in 1855, Tesa Lee born in abt.1863, Maggie don't have birth
date, Ann born in abt. 1865 but died as a teenager abt. age 14. all of the
younger children Charles, Maggie, Tesa Lee was all close in age. Jane married
a William Jennings and lived for a time being in Chartion County, then in the
mid 1880's moved to Dade County. Jane married a John Portfield on Jan. 1,
1865 they also moved to Dade County about the mid 1880's. Maggie married
a Jennings also but don't know the time frame just know that in Oct. of 1936
she was living in Oklahoma. Tesa Lee married a Stephenson an lived in
Northern Missouri up around Saline and Chartion county area. In 1936 Tom
was listed as living in Everett, Washington. Charles married Fannie Almeda Fry
on March 5, 1890 in Dade County, he died Oct. 10, 1936 at his home in
Arcola, Dade, Missouri, he is buried in a small cemetery Bald Mound along
