Surnames: HALVORSEN/ HOLVERSON
Submitter: S. Buckley (dbuckley@fwbnet.com)
Date: 13 Apr 1999

He was run over by a train and killed. Could have been MO or WI. I am researching unk. Halvorsen/Holverson born in Norway 1817. Came to US with (Sarah) Holverson, wife born Norway 1819, in 1842 to WI where 4 dau. were born (Cornelia, Gertrude, Caroline, and Jane). They or she, a widow, left WI in time for one dau., Sarah, to be born in unk. MO county in 1859. From info in Gerhard Naeseth's Vol. 1-2 it is possible that this is Lars Halvorsen who was run over by a train. I believe the Naeseth date could be wrong (1842, the year they arrived in US.) Are they listed in any MO Co? Is there any info this early? A train accident around 1858-59 would have been in the newspapers in MO if he didn't die in WI in this train accident. The info by Gerhard is too early a date for his death to have been in MO but also too early for these girls to be born later. Still, I wish to know where they lived in MO and for how long. Any suggestions or sources? Were there major migrations from WI or Norwegians to MO?
